Things to Do in Highmore, SD

Hunting and fishing

Central South Dakota is a favorite annual retreat for hunters and fishermen from across the nation. We are located right in the heart of “Pheasant Country”. Pheasants and deer are popular game that can be hunted in the area. Pheasant season traditionally opens on the third Saturday in October.

For the fishing enthusiasts, the Missouri River is just a quick drive from Highmore. Ice fishing is a popular winter pastime here as well. There are hunting and fishing guide services available. Hunting and fishing licenses can be purchased at the two gas stations in Hghmore on Highway 14 - G2 or D&K Outpost.

For a complete list of regulations and fees, refer to www.gfp.sd.gov.
