About Us

The Highmore Civic and Commerce is a community organization that works toward the betterment of Highmore and the surrounding community through marketing and promotion, community events and educational opportunities.

What we do

Host educational speakers.
Sponsor and run this website for the benefit of the community.
Provide Highmore dollars: Available for purchase at the Highmore Herald.
Promote businesses and upcoming events on our Facebook page.
Support the following community events: annual community Easter egg hunt, Old Settlers' Days, city-wide rummage sale, the Sunflower Festival, community Halloween event, the Christmas Stroll and more.
Assist in raising funds for various projects for the community.
Meet the third Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m in the east wing of Hyde County Memorial Auditorium (members will be notified of any location or time changes).

Who can join

Any business, individual or community organization who is interested in the betterment of Highmore is encouraged to join.
Annual membership for 2026 is $120 per business or $60 for an individual or community organization. For businesses, your membership includes promotional opportunities such as a listing in our online business directory, event sponsor opportunities, opportunities with the Highmore Herald and more. Members also have access to educational speakers and the opportunity to give back to and get involved with our community. In addition to these opportunities, your dues help us to put on all of our family friendly events each year and promote Highmore! If you choose not to be a member, and you have a business, you can still have your business listed in the online business directory for a $20.00 annual fee.
